Kindergarten Lines That Wiggle
Lines That Wiggle
Kindergarten art students created a line art sampler with bright colored squares of tissue paper and black paint. Students discovered new lines and where to find a variety of lines in their environment by reading Lines That Wiggle. Using glue sticks and an assortment of colored tissue paper students constructed the background of their art project. Before painting lines with black paint students practiced their line drawing technique first in their art journal. A few lines that make us wiggle: vertical, horizontal, diagonal, zigzag, broken, wavy, curly and dots.

International Day of Peace
Kay Granger art and music students participated in an international art installation on September 21st. Students took part in International Pinwheels for Peace art project by planting pinwheels with messages of peace and singing a song in front of the school. The students created pinwheels in art class that represent words, ideas and images of what peace means to them. Their hope is that when seen by others the pinwheels will spread thoughts and feelings of peace throughout the city, country and world.
